A Blue Slip inspection, officially known as an Authorised Unregistered Vehicle Inspection Scheme (AUVIS) inspection, is a detailed vehicle safety and identity inspection required by Transport for NSW for certain vehicles before registration.
The Blue Slip inspection confirms:
Vehicle identity
Roadworthiness and safety
Compliance with NSW registration requirements
Engine and chassis details
Vehicle modifications compliance
Once the vehicle passes inspection, the Blue Slip report is electronically sent to Transport for NSW.
